Mountain Wildlife
The mighty Southern Alps - forged over millions of years and capped by majestic Mt Cook-Aoraki, this towering spine of New Zealand’s South Island supports an abundance of native and introduced mountain wildlife.
Within its stunning peaks and valleys, I have photographed wildlife rarely seen by humans due to the difficulty of accessing their remote alpine habitats.
The challenge is thrilling, and patience is everything as I wait for the moment - when a magnificent silhouette is cast by a wild stag at sunset, when an aerial warrior decides to dive for its prey, when an animal reveals itself within the shadows of the forest. Waiting for the moment to capture a mountain wildlife story I can share with you.
