New Zealand Fallow Buck
I had just ‘spooked’ this Fallow Buck and he had taken cover in the bush. The Buck had to have one last look before disappearing for good. My camera settings were all wrong for the scene but knowing I only had a moment I took the shot anyway. I was surprised that I had captured what is so often seen by the hunter – a fleeting glimpse of a deer in the shadows. Then the buck was gone.
